BhaktiVedanta College

Bhaktivedanta College

Bhaktivedanta College is originally the idea of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. In many of his lectures he shows concern about todays education. Modern education comprises many different areas of science but the knowledge of the soul is missing.

Generally, people are not educated in this confidential knowledge; they are educated in external knowledge. As far as ordinary education is concerned, people are involved with so many departments: politics, sociology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, engineering, etc. There are so many departments of knowledge all over the world and many huge universities, but there is, unfortunately, no university or educational institution where the science of the spirit soul is instructed. Yet the soul is the most important part of the body; without the presence of the soul, the body has no value. Still people are placing great stress on the bodily necessities of life, not caring for the vital soul.
[Bhagavad Gita 9.2 purport]

That is why BhaktiVedanta College is very significant the unique one. It teaches the eternal principles of the soul and its relationship with the Supreme Soul Krishna; this material world and also other living entities.

Giving devotees opportunities to attend Bhaktivedanta College:Srila Prabhupada wanted devotees to be well trained and educated in order to preach Krishna consciousness to various audiences worldwide. Bhaktivedanta College at Mira Road, is educating students in the principles, philosophy, and culture of Vaishnavism.

The BhaktiVedanta College at ISKCON Mira Road was started in March 2006.

MISSION: To educate students in Vaishnavism and to propagate its traditional theology, principles, practices, and culture.

VISION: Become a centre of excellence for the practice and teaching of Vaishnavism as well for academic research.

THE FACULTY: Bhaktivedanta College has a dedicated, academically qualified faculty. Our teachers conduct their courses in a module form; The duration for most of the courses is about 2 weeks. During this time, the teachers are also available for personal tutorials in which the students may interact with the teacher on one to one basis. The process of academic tutorials prevalent in our course structure assists students when researching for and composing essays, and also enhances their general understanding on the subject matter. Smaller classes provide ample opportunity for the students to develop a relationship with the teacher, and the additional tutorials deepen that connection. After the course, teachers are available for further consultation through email.
